Mission Statement
WebSmith Developments was founded in January 1995 to provide system solutions and consulting services in the Ottawa, Ontario area. Additionally we have developed systems for clients in Vancouver and Toronto. Our main expertise includes database systems written for SCO unix and Sun Solaris platforms using Progress. With the advent of the Internet, our flag website, SkiCentral, was introduced in the fall of 1995 providing the online world with the ultimate gateway to the online ski and snowboarding world. SkiCentral was one of the first specialty search engines and has since evolved into a ski resort guide featuring ski vacation deals, lift ticket discounts and ski reports.
In 2005 WebSmith expanded into the world of camping with the introduction of the New York State Campsite Photos website. Although initially a free service for 15 years, the website is now offered as a feature rich subscription called BaseCamp with over 160,000 high resolution campsite photos of OPRHP and DEC State Parks across New York.
